earth-909 (~lietometoo) julie munroe was just a normal, average high school student when an accident changed her life forever. her and her two best friends became fused with government issued prototype suits, used to contain the "shadows" from an alien realm that had infected them. the suits let the teens access incredible powers, but only at the expense of letting the shadows deeper into their souls. eventually they fought back against both the aliens and a corrupt government who wanted to use the shadows for their own personal gain. believing the threat to be over, julie and her friends were cured of the shadows and placed the suits into hiding. twenty years later, the threat returned, and julie had a choice: go about her life as a top fashion designer, with power and respect and money, or stand up and fight with her friends one more time. she chose to fight, and let herself become infected by the shadows again, and donned the red suit of power once more. the fight this time was long and hard, with casualties on both sides. julie watched as an enemy turned friend injected himself with an airborne cure for all shadows. as she fell to her knees holding him, as he was about to use his dying breath to speak to her, her world changed. suddenly she was in a field of flowers, with a strange man who explained to her that a bomb, one last surprise from the bad guys, had taken her out while she held her dying friend. huh. ain't that a bitch. |
